The OWA is all about making connections and sharing knowledge within the optical industry. Join the conversation by creating a post for our Community Corner.

Thank you for contributing to our *NEW* Community Corner page!  We’ve established these guidelines to help you submit content.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Njoli@visionworks.com.

Please follow these guidelines when submitting your article: 

 

All content should be in a Word document

Pictures can be included separately, please use high-quality, HD images only

 

  • Milestones Moments

  1. Announcements / Achievements need to include the name, photo, and description of what the achievement or announcement is. 

  2. Examples could include Births, Engagements, Marriages, Professional Certifications, Awards/Certifications that you personally won.
    Note: Announcements cannot be used to advertise your company

  • Mingle and Meetups

    1. Upcoming Events: Please include a description, event name, date, and time, and any links.

  • Creativity Corner

    1. You can submit an original or found recipe, craft, or quote. For all non-original work, please cite the source (ie: website, cookbook).

    2. Quotes will need to show who it was attributed to.

    3. Pictures are highly encouraged but not required. Ensure you are submitting high-quality, high-res images so they display the best.

    4. For recipes, please provide at least one photo of your finished recipe and a 1-3 sentence introduction that tells us why you love this recipe, what's special about it, etc. - something to get readers excited about what you're sharing.

    5. See the example below for Book Recommendation format.

  • Skill Swap Studio

    1. Include topic, your name, and a brief summary in a separate document

    2. Provide a link to your video via Dropbox, Google Drive, or other sharing service so that we can add to OWA’s YouTube channel.  You can also share via Vimeo if you ensure that video downloading is enabled.

    3. Videos can be short (1-2 minutes) or longer, but ideally under 10 minutes.
